Video: Classic Camino – The French Way
As one of the most popular Camino de Santiago trails, the French Way provides a beautiful classic Camino experience. Walking the full way you will start in the town of St Jean Pied de Port.
Travelling through rural Galicia you pass through peaceful villages and many points of interest. Enjoy walking beside the vineyards, visiting the Templars Castle in Ponferrada and tasting the wide range of tapas. Karl has noted the top 10 things to see and do in a recent article.
For this video, we wanted to capture the essence of the last part of the trail from Sarria to Santiago. The last week is probably the most social way of all the Camino routes.
For this trail you will walk 111kms, collecting your pilgrim stamps along the way and meeting other pilgrims. This walk is manageable for all ages and all levels of walking experience. On average you will walk between 16 – 30 km per day and the terrain on this route is relatively flat.
Walk over the green landscape of Northern Spain for 6 days until you collect your pilgrim certificate when you arrive in the stunning city of Santiago de Compostela. Be sure to spend an extra day exploring the old, magnificent architecture and the parks while you are here.
