I’m cycling the Via Francigena – What sort of support do I get?

Caroline-cycling-monteggoni-Francigena-Ways-Tuscany-ItalyWhen you travel with FrancigenaWays.com, we provide you with a 24/7 assistance number, to be contacted in case of emergency.

If you are cycling the Via Francigena with us and have bike rental included as part of your package (available from Aulla to Rome), you will also be provided with an assistance number for our bike rental partners in Italy. They will be able to advise on where to find the nearest bike repair shop, or assist you on the trail, if necessary.

Bike rental includes a basic repair kit. We recommend you cycle the Via Francigena only if you have some experience as a cyclist and are familiar with essential bike maintenance (how to change a tyre for example and basic bike repairs and assembly). It is important that you check your bike on your arrival date, to make sure everything is in order (similarly to when you rent a car), as you will be responsible for bike repair costs.
