About CaminoWays: Camino specialists since 2011
Real people who know the Camino, step by step
We are a small Irish tour operator that does one thing: walking and cycling holidays on the Camino de Santiago, plus the Via Francigena to Rome.
We plan the route, book every hotel, move your luggage and answer the phone when you need us. Not a faceless booking site, just a team that has walked these paths and loves helping other people walk them too.
- 2011Organising Camino holidays since
- 50,000+pilgrims have travelled with us
- Every yeara Tripadvisor award since 2015

How it started
It started with a backpack and a yellow arrow
Our founder, Roland Monsegu, moved from France to Ireland in 2002. A couple of years later he set off with a backpack for two years of travel through Asia, Europe and South America. Somewhere on that journey he found the Camino de Santiago.
Back in Dublin in 2006, he started a small walking and cycling travel company. By 2011 the Camino had taken over, and CaminoWays.com was born, with three people in a small city-centre office.
The idea has not changed since: make the Camino possible for everyone, whatever their age, fitness or experience, without losing what makes it special.
How we work
A real tour operator, not a booking website
When you book with us, we don’t pass you on to someone else. We organise your holiday ourselves, with local partners we have worked with for years.
A typical booking site
- Sells hotels and services run by other companies
- Leaves you to join the pieces together
- Sends you to a call centre if something goes wrong
CaminoWays
- Plans each stage and books your accommodation, taxis, luggage transfers and guides directly
- Knows the hotels, owners and drivers along the way
- Looks after you before you leave and while you walk
We plan your route
Stages that suit your pace, with clear walking grades and real distances from our Camino Planner.
We book it directly
Hand-picked hotels and guesthouses, taxis and guides, through our own network of local partners.
We move your luggage
Your bag goes ahead to the next hotel by 16:00, so you walk with a small daypack. How luggage transfers work.
We’re there on the trail
Your travel documents come about 60 days before you go, with a 24/7 emergency number for your trip.
CaminoWays is the trading name of Greenlife Tours Ltd, a company registered in Ireland (CRO 495288). Our packages are protected against insolvency under EU package travel rules: see our TOPP protection.
The people
A small team with a lot of Camino kilometres
Our sales and customer care team is based in Dublin. Our operations team works across Spain, Italy and Ireland, close to the routes and the people who make them work.
Many of us have walked or cycled the routes we sell, so we can tell you which stage is the toughest, where the best pulpo is and what to pack for Galician rain. We know the excitement of planning a Camino, and the little worries that come with it.
Jeremy Perrin
General & Sales Director
From Ireland, he chose the Camino del Norte and its wild coast.
Tania Garrido
Operations Director
Born in Galicia, she walked the Camino Portugués all the way home.
What we believe
The Camino is more than a walk from A to B
It’s the coffee in a village bar at 9 in the morning, the people you meet on the path, the food, the landscapes and the feeling of walking into Santiago. Our job is to handle the practical side so you can enjoy all of that.
Safety first, always
Clear route notes for self-guided walkers, certified guides on guided tours, and a 24/7 emergency number for every trip.
The real Camino
Traditional guesthouses and family-run hotels, local food and the small villages along the way, not just the big towns.
Your pace, your Camino
From short sections to the full route, on foot or by bike and e-bike, there is a Camino for every type of traveller.
Fair to the places we visit
Fair prices for our local partners, a responsible travel policy and, from 2015 to 2020, the CaminoWays Fund.
What our pilgrims say
Don’t just take our word for it
Read what pilgrims say about their Camino with us, the good and the not so good, on Trustpilot and Tripadvisor.

“On our final day when our luggage was an hour late, we contacted Camino Ways who were in contact with the luggage transfer service immediately, updated us and insisted that we let them know once the luggage arrived. The service Camino Ways provided was faultless.”
“Camino Ways arranged the entire trip from start to finish – airport pickups – hotels, luggage transfers, everything. The entire trip was amazing and it’s all due to Camino Ways.”
