Le Puy-en-Velay video
The Le Puy Camino de Santiago route, also known as Via Podiensis, is one of the most popular Camino routes in France. The pocket-sized city of Le Puy-en-Velay, in central France, is the spectacular starting point of this scenic Camino route. Please enjoy this Le Puy en Velay video.
Pilgrims will be impressed by beautiful Le Puy en Velay, which has been a holy destination since Medieval times. When you are there, there are certain things not to be missed. These include its quaint Old Town of winding cobbled streets, the iconic volcanic landscapes and of course, the pretty medieval chapels built to defy gravity!
Before embarking on your Le Puy Camino journey, retrace the steps of medieval pilgrims and visit the Cathedral where you can light a candle and write a message for St James. Less holy but definitely worth the steep steps: climbing up to the Notre Dame de France statue for wonderful panoramic views of the whole city.
