The Camino de Santiago is an ancient path and unique journey. Pilgrims from all over the world have followed the many paths to Santiago de Compostela and the tomb of St James for centuries. Today, whether walking the Camino for religious or spiritual reasons, to finding yourself or for its natural beauty, the Camino de Santiago is a trip of a lifetime, a unique experience that inspires many, even after their journey is over. Sarria, in Galicia, is the most popular starting point for Camino pilgrims, as it marks the 100kms to Santiago. Pilgrims need to walk at least the last 100kms into the city to receive their Compostela pilgrim certificate.

Wow, what an omen! I have just been sitting here thinking again (I do alot of this lol) about how I so need to take this journey. My mother was so inspired by Shirley Mcleans book & always wanted to, but we lost her to cancer 3 & a half years ago. It has been my goal to do the Camino since, both for her, but also for me now. I often hear her inspire me when things get tough….”take the journey of The Way…it will sooth your soul”. Hopefully 2016 is my year to find my way!

I’ve been training for the Camino as I anticipate this year of mercy pilgrimage. I’ve discovered how important it is to have the lightest load possible. I’ll have to check out the ultralight.

This would be such a wonderful opportunity! My daughter walked the whole way back in 2012, all the way to the coast and loved every minute of it!
