This section of the Camino Mozarabe runs from the Andalusian city of Cordoba, famous for the La Mezquita to Merida, the capital of the autonomous community of Extremadura. The starting point is Cordoba, which became the capital of the Islamic Emirate and was a hugely important centre of culture and learning in the Muslim golden age. The historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The walk comprises of trips down old Roman roads, going through beautiful Andalusian villages and important Roman settlements. The walk ends in the city of Merida and you will pass the Roman Circus which is just one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Here you will also find wonderful restaurants and tapas bars, where you can soak up the lively atmosphere of the city.
