This new route, starts in Lourdes and has three days stretching through the French countryside until you reach Oloron Sainte-Marie. At this point the route joins up with, what is traditionally known as the Arles Way. The Arles Camino (GR 653), also known as Arles Way; Chemin d’Arles or Voie d’Arles in French or Via Tolosana in Latin, was traditionally the route used by people from Italy and the South of France on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
The Arles Camino from Lourdes will taken you from southern France through the breathtaking Pyrenees and into Northern Spain. Along the route you will be enchanted by stunning landscapes, rich heritage and culture, as well as delicious food. One of the particular highlights of this route, is passing the Embalse de Yesa, where you will be greeted with breathtaking views of the lake and the stunning scenery.
The route then finishes up in Puente de la Reina. From Puente de la Reina, you can also continue all the way to Santiago de Compostela joining pilgrims on the famous Camino Frances.
