Today FM Phil Cawley’s Re-Boot Camino

jeremy-phil-cawley-todayfm-caminowaysToday FM DJ Phil Cawley is heading back to the Camino de Santiago this September and he wants you to join him in his Re-Boot Camino!

Mobile phones will be switched off and ‘strangers will become friends’ as you will walk together for a week, following the Portuguese Way, a Camino path taken by pilgrims to Santiago for centuries.

You will be starting Phil’s Re-Boot Camino in the town of Tui, separated from Portugal only by the River Minho. On your way to Santiago de Compostela, you will walk through peaceful woodlands, discover historic towns and lively cities, reach the Atlantic Ocean and taste delicious local food and wine.

Hi John, thank you for your message. Yes, many people do the Camino on their own or with others. Unfortunately, the Cawley Camino is fully booked for now but we will put your name on a list and if places become available we will get in touch with you. The Camino Frances is one of the most popular routes and if you decide to go alone you will meet other pilgrims and walkers along the way. Here is the link If you have any more questions please feel free to get in touch with us. Kind regards, Lisa.

Thanks for your note Irene. The Customer Care team will be in touch with more details, you can travel on your own, that’s no problem. They will be able to quote you for a single room. The daily treks cover between 11 and 24kms per day. See the full itinerary here: (if you click in itinerary you will be able to see the elevation profile for the week). I hope this helps, let us know if you need anything else. Kind regards.

I would love to know more about it can you send me on details. Are the daily trecks going to be hard ? Also is there any problem in travelling on your own ?
    Regards, Irene

  8. By Maria

No problem, Clare! it starts in the town of Tui, by the River Minho, on the border with Portugal. It reaches the coast as well so that makes it very different from the French Way. You will also stop in the lovely city of Pontevedra with its historic centre. See details here: I’ll get the Customer Care team to get in touch if you need more information, price, etc… I hope this helps!
