St James Day Special: get 10% OFF your Camino

camino-de-santiago-scallop-shells-caminowaysAt we are celebrating St James Day with a special offer: we are giving 10% off self-guided tours for all bookings from Monday 18th to Monday 25th July, St James Day.

St James Day, the feast of St James, is one of the most special days on the Camino de Santiago, the Way of St James. The famous pilgrim trails across France, Portugal and Spain take thousands of walkers and cyclists to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, in North West Spain, each year.

More than a pilgrimage, the Camino has become an international phenomenon and unique cultural experience, attracting travellers of all creeds, ages and nationalities. Over 5000 Irish pilgrims received their ‘Compostela’ certificate in Santiago in 2015.

In addition, our Irish clients are invited to take part in St James Day celebrations at the office in Blackpitts, Dublin 8, on Thursday 21st July from 5.30pm.

It is a free event but there are limited spaces, so those interested should get their tickets here: St James Day Celebrations.

The event will opened by Today FM presenter and Camino-fan Phil Cawley and attendees will be treated to Spanish tapas, music as well as prizes. A photography exhibition: Humans of the Camino by Belfast-based photographer Joe Laverty will be launched on the day and will be open for visitors for a whole month.

Hi Elise, thank you for getting in contact; we have many South African pilgrims too, of course. There is an initial booking deposit and the rest would be due closer to the date of departure. I will get the Customer Care team to send you a quote and information.

Hi Maria, do you make bookings for South Africans as well? How much in euro approximately for the original Camino starting in France? If we book now for 2018 how will the payment work? Can we pay over a period or all at once and/or deposit?

Hi Lainey, thank you for getting in contact. We definitely cater for individual requests and most itineraries can be adapted to your specific needs: for instance if you require rest days in between stages (recommended if you are doing a long stretch) or additional nights in certain towns or cities, that can be arranged. In terms of distance walked each day it will depend on the route/section you’d like to do, as stops are arranged depending on accommodation availability along the route; however in the toughest parts we generally have the option of adding ‘split’ days to make them shorter. Our Customer Care will contact you with more details and they will be able to advise on the best option for you. I hope this helps!

How flexible are we able to be when we decide our itinerary…ex/ if we desire a day off ,or 2 days in one of the towns along the final stages of the Camino(Sarria on…) At this time we do not know how far we can walk daily, and we would like flexibility when booking our Camino. We hope there would not be additional charges for this. Does your company only do a set
plan ; or do you do individual requests?
