I had the pleasure of catching up with the friendliest man on radio, Mr.Phil Cawley, last week at the National Ploughing Championships. Phil has recently returned from a fantastic trip on the English Way from Ferrol to Santiago on the 2016 Cawley Camino.
In our mini interview with Phil we find out why he enjoyed the English Way, what challenges the group faced and a few tips for anyone planning their next Camino journey. It is sometimes difficult to describe time passing on the Camino and give a picture of what the Camino is all about but Phil manages to sum up a few key positive takeaways from his experience with a guided group on the #CawleyCamino. Have a listen to our podcast below.
“It was tough, there was a bit of uphill, a bit of struggling but I actually think it brought us all closer together because everyone wants to help eachother, everyone has a different reason and a different goal for doing it”
From Phil’s recap and Eamonn’s blogs we learn about the friendships made, the daily struggles, the weather, the terrain and the beauty of the paths along the way.
To read about the day to day experience of the group you can catch up by reading Eamonn’s blogs:
