How to access money on the Camino?

Nobody wants the hassle of being without money on the Camino, or on any holiday really. If you’re in a really remote location, accessing money can be quite an ordeal. Luckily, this is most certainly not the case on the Camino de Santiago.

Spain, like the rest of Europe, is quite taken with contactless payment. If you have a bank card with contactless, you can use this most places, but it’s always good to have some cash ready to go, especially for smaller shops and cafes and for tips in restaurants.

The easiest and cheapest way to get money while you are on the Camino de Santiago is by using your bank ATM card or credit card!

There’s no need to worry about locating ATMs either as there is an ATM at every stage of the Camino or almost every stage. You’ll especially find them in bigger towns and cities.
