The second section of the Camino Catalán, the Catalan Way or Camí de Sant Jaume, starts in the charming small city of Vic, half way between Barcelona and Girona. This section of the Camino Catalán takes you right into the heart of Catalonia with its spectacular landscapes, historic towns and ancient Roman roads.

Along the way you will also reach the Natural Park and Sanctuary of Montserrat, Catalonia’s ‘Holy Mountain’ and also considered by some to be the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian mythology. Your finishing point will be the charming medieval city of Cervera with its impressive university.

This section of the Camino de Santiago across Catalonia is very hilly with plenty of climbing and also descending; particularly on your day walking to Montserrat.
